Allyson leads marketing and communications across Closed Loop Partners, working across all investment platforms and the Center for the Circular Economy. She develops and implements data-backed outreach strategies to optimize reach and engagement with target audiences.
Allyson brings over two decades of experience in communications, as a seasoned journalist and an integrated strategic communications professional working on advocacy and outreach campaigns, value chain communications and targeted growth marketing. Before joining Closed Loop Partners, Allyson was a Director of Global Communications with the Institute for Sustainable Communities (ISC). In this role, Allyson oversaw all program communications and was responsible for the development and implementation of the organization’s comprehensive, integrated, strategic communications program. Prior to joining ISC, Allyson was a Director of Digital Strategy and Content Marketing for the American Chemistry Council’s (ACC) Plastics Division. In that cross-functional role, Allyson created and implemented integrated, strategic communications programs supporting the U.S. plastics industry’s work on packaging sustainability, lifecycle assessment, natural capital accounting, recycling, and recovery. She also chaired the Global Plastics Alliance Communications Taskforce where she led development of international communications strategy to support the global plastics industry’s work to combat ocean plastic and grow recovery infrastructure around the world. In 2017 Allyson was recognized for her work in Plastics News’ Women Breaking the Mold series.
In 2009 Allyson served as Deputy Communications Director for Terry McAuliffe for Governor of Virginia, and spent the decade before as TV news reporter and anchor, working for broadcast stations in Savannah, GA, Huntsville, AL, Memphis, TN, Washington, DC and CNN. Allyson holds a BA in Mass Media and Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and is currently completing her Master’s in Sustainability from Harvard University. She lives in Washington, DC with her husband, three kids and 2 dogs.
