Role Overview 

The Summer Program Data Manager Intern will support the work of the Center for the Circular Economy by analyzing program data and translating complex datasets into clear visualizations, insights and narratives that inform strategy and program implementation. 

This role is best suited for a graduate student with prior experience in data analytics, data science or quantitative research who is interested in applying analytical tools to sustainability, retail systems and circular economy initiatives.  

Rather than building backend data infrastructure, this role focuses on analyzing datasets, developing dashboards and visualizations, and communicating insights that support decision-making across programs. 

This internship is a full-time position (40 hours per week) starting in May or June, with a duration of 10 to 12 weeks. The candidate will also have the opportunity to start before the Summer time period at approximately 10 hours per week during the academic year. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Analyze program datasets to identify trends, behavioral patterns and key insights 
  • Develop and refine Power BI dashboards and other data visualizations 
  • Translate analytical findings into clear visual narratives for internal teams and stakeholders 
  • Support program teams in interpreting data from pilots, research initiatives and in-market programs 
  • Prepare charts, summaries and data-driven insights for presentations and reports 
  • Help organize and structure datasets to support ongoing analysis and evaluation 
  • Identify opportunities to improve how data is visualized, communicated and used for decision-making 

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate program (MBA, Data Science, Sustainability, Analytics or related field) 
  • Prior professional experience in data analytics, data science or quantitative analysis 
  • Demonstrated experience working with data visualization tools, with Power BI strongly preferred 
  • Proficiency in SQL 
  • Experience working with structured datasets and performing exploratory analysis 
  • Strong ability to translate analytical findings into clear visualizations and insights 
  • Experience working with large or complex datasets 
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Interest in sustainability, environmental systems or circular economy initiatives 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Familiarity with retail, consumer behavior or market analysis 
  • Experience designing dashboards used for decision-making 
  • Ability to communicate analytical insights clearly to non-technical audiences
