Role
Closed Loop Private Equity is looking for an Associate to support the investment team in all aspects of the deal process from origination and due diligence through deal support and post-investment portfolio management, as well as research new investment opportunities and work on strategic projects.  This is a unique opportunity for long-term career advancement with an entrepreneurial and growth stage private equity strategy investing for platform growth. This is an in-person role in our office in midtown Manhattan.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis of investment opportunities including financial modeling, valuation, and return analysis
  • Market landscaping, thesis development and industry research
  • Pipeline management of new and prospective investment opportunities
  • Impact measurement analysis and reporting
  • Support preparation of term sheets and letters of intent
  • Monitoring select portfolio companies, quarterly portfolio valuation analysis, financial and operational reporting
  • Due diligence on companies, management teams, customers, competitors, and industries
  • Preparation of materials for Investment Committee, Executive team, investors, and others

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of one to two years of post-college experience within an investment banking, private equity, investment management, consulting or related industries
  • Undergraduate degree with demonstrated academic excellence
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainability and the circular economy
  • Strong financial modelling, accounting, and corporate finance skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness
  • A dynamic, enthusiastic individual who can take both initiative and direction
  • A team player who enjoys collaboration and demonstrates entrepreneurial mindset in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in small deal teams with significant opportunities to succeed and be challenged

About the Role:

The EVP Finance will report directly to the CFO. Responsibilities include driving key company objectives, including organic, acquisition, and operational growth. In this role, the EVP Finance will be responsible for all aspects of the financial health of Circular Services, including, but not limited to, equity and debt financing, quarterly financial reporting, budgeting & long-term financial planning, and evaluation of internal investment and capital deployment opportunities.

The EVP Finance will work closely with the Circular Services leadership team in New York City and with leadership across the organization’s operations in New York, Florida, Texas and the Midwest. This is a key role that will have visibility and responsibilities across Circular Services and significant opportunities for advancement and leadership.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of financial management or investing experience
  • At least 3 years’ experience in recycling, waste management, organics, environmental services or a related field
  • Must be willing to be in office a minimum of 3 days/week
  • Must be willing to travel to Company’s sites across the US at least once per month
  • Superior financial modeling skills, as well as written and oral communication skills are a must
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and thoroughness
  • Organizational IQ and EQ including understanding of organizational dynamics and the ability to work effectively with people at all levels
  • Extensive experience in budget planning, modeling, and generating practical insights and recommendations
  • Relentless focus on performance, cash flow reporting/ analysis, labor, T&E, contracts, mid-month forecast
