Role

Closed Loop Partners’ Executive Vice President (EVP) of Finance works closely with the firm’s CEO and management team and is accountable for overseeing financial operations of the management company, the Center for the Circular Economy, and the Capital Management business inclusive of fund-level accounting and capital optimization. The EVP of Finance will supervise and collaborate with the firm’s Controller, Director of Fund Finance, as well as both internal and third-party FP&A, Accounting, Fund Administration, Tax, and Audit partners.

Closed Loop Partners’ EVP of Finance will participate in the firm’s vision to build a new economic model focused on a profitable and sustainable future that aligns the interests of shareholders, customers, local communities and the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic financial direction and capital management for the firm, including asset and liability management, liquidity management, and forecasting
  • Leadership of day-to-day financial and accounting functions across the firm, including eight investment funds to date, the Center for the Circular Economy, and the parent company; including but not limited to, month/year-end close, accounts receivable & payable, financial reports, payroll, invoicing, cash receipts and disbursements
  • Oversee the completion of timely financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP (including monthly, quarterly and annual reports) and reports on transactions and/or information requests from lenders and investors
  • Oversee accounting system, approve monthly cash and position reconciliations performed by the fund administrator
  • Manage annual audits and financial regulator relationships (US and non-US)
  • Maintain strong financial and operational reporting procedures across the firm
  • Optimize and manage banking relationships (Treasury, Borrowing, Risk)
  • Participate in meetings of the Valuation, Conflicts and Operations Committees
  • Assist team with fundraising diligence and participate in related meetings with third parties
  • Oversee the firm’s Controller, Director of Fund Finance and manage/mentor small team of finance professionals

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years of Finance, Accounting, and/or related experience
  • Minimum 5 years experience leading Fund Finance; must have SEC-registered private fund management experience, preferably buyout private equity or private credit

Private Equity Analyst

Role 

Support the private equity investment team in all aspects of the deal process from origination and due diligence through deal support and post-investment portfolio management, as well as research new investment opportunities and work on strategic projects.  Superior financial modeling skills as well as written and oral communication skills are also required. More specific attributes of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Analysis of investment opportunities including financial modeling, valuation, and return analysis
  • Market landscaping and industry research
  • Pipeline management of new and prospective investment opportunities for CLLF
  • Conduct impact measurement analysis and reporting
  • Assistance in preparation of term sheets and letters of intent
  • Monitoring of select portfolio companies and quarterly portfolio valuation analysis and reporting
  • Due diligence on companies, management, customers, competitors, and industries
  • Preparation of materials for Investment Committee, executive team, and others

  • Up to two years of post-college experience within investment banking

Analyst/Associate, Private Credit Funds

Role

We are seeking an Analyst / Associate to support the Portfolio Manager and senior investment team across the deal cycle – origination, due diligence, execution, and portfolio management – across all the credit funds. We are looking for a candidate who is interested in the areas of recycling, commodities and/or systems change. The key requirements include strong, demonstrated capabilities in accounting and financial analysis, an ability to work effectively as part of a small team, and an interest in the aims of social and environmental enterprise.

  • Support activities of the private credit funds’ active origination strategy to develop pipeline and identify new investment opportunities – targeted research, outreach, and CRM input.
  • Undertake initial screening of inquiries and assessment of loan applications.
  • Assist with commercial and financial due diligence, performing market research and financial analysis, including review of historic and prospective financial information.
  • Build and maintain financial models for pipeline and portfolio companies.
  • Contribute to the drafting of presentations and investment memos for review by the senior investment team before submission to Advisory Board and Investment Committee.
  • Undertake environmental performance assessments of existing and prospective borrowers/investments.
  • Assist in preparation of legal documentation and contracts required to complete investments.
  • Support all aspects of investment portfolio management – monitoring the environmental and financial performance of existing investments, reviewing management information, and compliance with covenants.

 

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, fundamental credit analysis, or with a middle market lender
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting

  • Keen interest in sustainable finance and the development of the social and environmental enterprise sector
  • Ability to understand and evaluate company financial statements and accounts, strong financial analysis skills – a passion for delving into the details
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including financial modeling in Excel
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; ability to relate to a wide and diverse range of individuals and organizations
  • Energetic and enthusiastic individual with the ability to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision
